About DebtClear

DebtClear is an independent, advertising-supported website. US households carry large revolving balances. We build simple payoff calculators and sourced guides so you can see months, interest and trade-offs with your own numbers — not slogans.

What we publish

A multi-debt snowball/avalanche planner, a single-card payoff calculator, a minimum-payment interest cost tool, a debt-to-income calculator, and guides covering interest math, balance transfers, consolidation loans and debt-collection rights.

How we research

Interest examples use standard monthly compounding on the numbers you type. We cite the CFPB, FTC, Federal Reserve and Consumer.gov. We never invent lender offers or APR specials. Every figure that comes from a third party is linked at the bottom of the page where it is used, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. If a carrier, retailer or organisation changes its published information, the official source wins over anything on this site.

How the tools work

All calculators run in your browser. Balances, APRs and payments you type are not sent to our servers.

How we make money

DebtClear shows advertising (Google AdSense) and does not accept payment from insurers, brokers, banks or any company in exchange for coverage in our guides. We do not sell leads, and we do not sell or recommend any specific insurance policy or financial product.

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We correct factual mistakes quickly and update the “last updated” date when we do.
